Description
A mass spectrometer, when combined with separation techniques such as chromatography, is an excellent analytical system for the qualitative analysis of unknown compounds and the quantitative analysis of target substances in complex mixtures.
The quadrupole mass selective detector (MSD) is the most widely used type of mass spectrometer when coupled with gas chromatography (GC).
